The
Batching Master is a control instrument, especially
designed for the automation of a batch function,
where a precise result is required.
The Batching Master as a "stand alone version"
is a fully functional device that requires just
one power supply.
The operator has all the information that needed
for a safe batching process local to the plant.
The batch is started directly at the point filling.
If there is a failure in the system, the batch can
be stopped immediately. Error messages are displayed
in clear text.

Precise
Batching
The Batching
Master opens the valve with a 4 - 20 mA output signal.
Because of the soft start ramp and the 5 shut down
steps also small quantities are filled with highest
accuracy. "Hammers" in high flow rate
system are prevented.
Flow meters
All types of flow
meters can be connected. The input can be configured
for:
- current input
(4 - 20 mA)
- passive pulses
- inductive sensors
Low flow rate monitoring
If the flow rate during the batch is too low, the
Batching Master stops the batch after a preprogrammed
time.
Sensor break monitoring
The Batching Master stops the batch if a sensor
break with the mA input circuit or with the Namur
contact input circuit occurs
PID
Controller function
- Controlling
the flow during the batch
- Controlling
the temperature or the PH during the batch
- Pressure
control function for LPG applications
Terminal
function
The terminal function is controlled by the serial
interface. The host system can send text messages
to the display of the Batching Master.
Operator acknowledgements such as confirming plant
status, entry of order numbers or selection of a
product can be carried out using the keyboard.
Low flow
rate monitoring
If the flow rate during the batch is too low, the
Batching Master stops the batch after a preprogrammed
time.
Sensor break
monitoring
The Batching Master stops the batch if a sensor
break with the mA input circuit or with the Namur
contact input circuit occurs.
Digital inputs
Examples of the functions:
- Purge
function
- Start,
stop, set and reset
- Releases
for the batch
- Switching
on the controller function
Programming:
The programming can be entered in different
languages, all program levels can be protected by
codes.
Function
keys F1 - F3

Examples for the functions:
- Switching
the purge function
- Selection
of 3 product ways
- Selection
of 3 pre-set values
Filling
or emptying the batching system
Before starting the batching process, the measuring
system can be filled, based on a predefined time
or a “release” signal to be entered via an external
digital input, indicating a full pipe. There are
also functions for emptying the system. During
these processes the Batching Master doesn't count
the flow.
Batch systems
for custody transfer
Approval No.: German PTB.5.531/03.20:
When tankers and wagons are loaded with a custody
transfer batch system, it's not necessary to use
expensive weighbridges. Also the dwell time for
tankers being loaded will be reduced.
The batching data are logged to a printer. Using
a multiplex system up to 16 Batching Masters can
be connected at one printer. Different types of
printers are available.
Storage of
process data
Especially in the pharmaceutical industry, it’s
important to store the information of the products
that are filled during a batch. In this case, a
printer is connected to the Batching Master via
a multiplexing system.
The following data can be entered directly at the
Batching Master:
User No., batch No., and product No.
The Batching Master provides the following information:
Date, time, current No., Preset and the batched
quantity
